Although the critics' score for the live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie couldn’t quite live up to the hype of the original, the audience score tells a different story. How to Train Your Dragon opened with Thursday previews around the world last night, and enough scores have come in from fans to give the film a nearly perfect 99% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter. This is much higher than the 91% earned by the original film, and is undeniable proof that most fans are happy with the remake. The critics' score for the live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie is currently at 77%, still "certified fresh" but over 20% lower than the 99% rating of the original on Rotten Tomatoes. The 99% audience score is subject to change, but it’s still a stunning start as the film kicks off opening weekend.
