The 7th LIV Golf event of the season has kicked off at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Course in Incheon, South Korea. After one day of play, Bryson DeChambeau and Talor Gooch share the lead by a slender margin, carding a brilliant 7 under par to open the tournament. All eyes will be, however, on two players. Joaquin Niemann, who is currently having a dominant season on the circuit, and Jon Rahm, who is yet to finish below the 10th position at any LIV event since his joining.

The 72-par course with a total yardage of 7344 yards will pose a stern challenge to the golfers as the days go by, and all the participants will be looking to put their best performance forward to clinch the ultimate prize. But what is at stake in South Korea for all the 54 participants?

The lucrative prize purse at stake in LIV Golf Korea

The total purse at the Korean event is the same as that of the other LIV events—$25 million. Of this, the individual competition gets 80% of the money, i.e., $20 million. The winner gets 20% of the total prize purse, which is $4 million, while the runner-up gets $2.25 million. The third-placed finisher will leave the course with $1.5 million. In case there is a tie, the total prize money for all the positions occupied is added and distributed amongst the tied players equally. This holds true for all positions except for 1st.

2025 LIV Golf standings as of now

On the individual front, the undoubted leader is Joaquin Niemann. The Chilean golfer has won three of the six events. He is that dominant. Niemann also earned a spot on the upcoming US Open due to his brilliance on the LIV Golf Circuit. He is currently 30 points ahead of Jon Rahm in second.

Spaniard Rahm is yet to finish outside the Top 10 in a LIV Golf event, and he maintains a 16-point game gap with fellow countryman Sergio Garcia, who is third. Lucas Herbert and Bryson DeChambeau, both yet to win this season, make the fourth and fifth places.

On the team front, Jon Rahm-led Legion XIII GC holds the lead, with Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs GC trailing. Ripper GC makes up the top 3 of the standings. The individual points winner, runner-up, and third-placed finisher will get tasty bonuses at the end of the season.
