Three unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire at actor Tiger Shroff’s vehicle in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, October 18, 2026. The attack, which occurred around 7 PM, left two people injured: Shroff’s driver, Firdaus, and a bystander identified as blogger Umesh Chauhan.
The shooting took place as Shroff was leaving a football ground near Pushpa Park. According to reporting from The Hindu, the assailants fired several rounds at the car before fleeing toward SV Road and the Vile Parle station area. The two victims sustained gunshot wounds and were transported for medical attention.
Forensic teams were deployed to the site to examine evidence and determine the number of rounds fired.
Responsibility and Motive
Following the incident, a man named Anil Pandit claimed responsibility for the attack on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In a purported audio message, the gang alleged that Shroff was targeted because of his continued professional association with actor Salman Khan and for allegedly ignoring “directions” previously issued by the group.
According to The Times of India, the claim characterized the shooting as a “first and last warning” to the Hindi film industry. This development follows a series of high-profile incidents linked to the Bishnoi gang, including a firing at Salman Khan’s residence in April 2024 and the assassination of politician Baba Siddique in October 2024.
Police Response and Investigation
The Mumbai Police have launched a large-scale manhunt, forming 15 specialized teams to track the three motorcycle-borne suspects. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the Juhu area to map the escape route. By late Sunday night, authorities confirmed they had detained one suspect for questioning.
Forensic teams have been deployed to the site to determine the exact number of rounds fired.
This latest assault marks a significant escalation in the ongoing threats against the Mumbai film fraternity. While security for several high-profile actors has been reviewed in recent months, the Juhu shooting indicates a broadening of the gang’s target list to include associates and collaborators of their primary targets.
