Kit’s dark past haunts him in Coronation Street as he is cornered by violent villain

There’s a lot we know about the present version of Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) in Coronation Street, but we definitely don’t know a great deal about his past.

Kit is the biological son of Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) and was put up for adoption when he was younger. He now works as a police officer, and has no qualms about breaking the rules to get what he wants.

The person who kickstarts Kit’s new storyline is Mick (Joe Layton), a neighbour who has caused nothing but trouble since he arrived.

Prior to their meeting, Mick is busy getting involved in Gary’s (Mikey North) new venture after buying the builder’s yard. Maria (Samia Longchambon) tells Gary that it was a complete mistake to offer Mick a job and that he’s not welcome.

Next week, Lisa (Vicky Myers) tells Kit that Mick is in the interview room after being arrested on suspicion of assault. Swain tells him that he needs to do the interview, but the thought of that troubles Kit deeply.

Kit enters the room and is clearly nervous, which amuses Mick.

The interview starts but Kit fails to question Mick in detail and tells him he’s free to go, clearly not keen on them being in the same room together. When they get outside, Mick corners Kit and tells him they need to have a chat.

But what connection do these two men share?

The answer to that question might be revealed in a flashback story, due to air soon. Past pictures confirmed the scenes, which are set in 2008, will feature a young star playing a throwback version of Kit.

Later scenes will see Bernie (played by Jane Hazelgrove) leaving Kit with his foster mum as she departs in a taxi. Kit chases after the car but it’s too late.

Fans also know that Brody (Ryan Mulvey) a young lad in prison, might turn out to be Kit’s biological son, with Mick being led to believe that he is the troubled teenager’s dad.
