The everlasting war between “Little Bro State” and “Blue Bloods” has claimed a lot of victims, and this time around, it’s Kirk Herbstreit on the chopping block. With how 2024 unfolded, and Michigan handing Ohio State yet another L, we figured maybe the National freaking Championship win would heal some wounds. Nope—turns out, even a shiny title can’t fix that deep Buckeye pain. The hate for Michigan still runs cold and bitter. To think all that hate could’ve been channeled into, you know, actually fixing the L. But nah—some fans out here choosing to clown a dad just for backing his son. Maybe Herbie wasn’t wrong calling the Buckeyes fanbase “lunatic fringe,” huh?

Back on X, Isaiah Hole shared a picture of Kirk in a full blue outfit. “Michigan dad @KirkHerbstreit,” Hole wrote. Now, unless you have been living under a rock, you’d know that Michigan just had their Maize vs. Blue spring game and Herbstreit was there to catch his son Chase take part in that game. We and many CFB fans have known that Herbie is an OSU fanatic through and through—this time around, though, it was just a father stepping up for his son. Sadly for Kirk, the fans of his alma mater were apparently “deeply uncomfortable”. You cannot make this up. A fan directly wrote, “That picture makes me deeply uncomfortable.”

What on earth is going on at Ohio State? We always knew things were bad, but people stooping this low? But then again, let’s not act surprised. These are the same fans who sent death threats to their HC and his family over one game—so yeah, them flipping out over Kirk showing love to his son? Totally on brand.

“These Ohio State fans have got a psychotic obsession with Michigan.” This statement by Nick Saban still lives on in your heads. Rent free. After the whole “fire Ryan Day” drama went down, Saban was quick to call out the actions of OSU fans. It just didn’t make any sense. Despite being in the playoffs, Buckeyes Nation was fixated on the Blue Bloods.

Hell, they were so hurt they even passed a law banning any kind of flag planting at Ohio Stadium. We wouldn’t be shocked if the crowd came charging at Herbie with pitchforks next. But before the Monday night witch hunt begins, let’s take a look at what OSU fans are already saying on X.

No, Kirk Herbstreit, you are not allowed to support your son!

“Terrible look for a Buckeye player to wear TTUN gear. And don’t give the excuse of his kid. He knows the rivalry and what it means. It’s not a good look at all,” a fan pointed out. What are you exactly on about? In all honesty, the only Michigan gear we can see on Herbstreit is the lanyard. Other than that, it’s normal blue clothing.

Another fan wrote, “Don’t trust him or his son at all. Bad idea.” What exactly did Chase or Kirk even do? The kid is playing in the spring game, and the dad is out here being a good father. One more fan wrote, “gross.” We cannot. It is funny that just because of a few “crazy” fans, the entire Bucks fanbase gets trashed on.

Finally, someone wrote, “FAKE Buckeye.” Tell me your dad never came to your football games, without telling me your dad never came to your football games.
