Heavy lies the head that wears the crown. This is most definitely true of Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) in the HBO series, House of the Dragon. Queen Alicent's (Olivia Cooke) mistake has set off a chain of events that have since brought Rhaenyra and Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) to blows as the contest for the Iron Throne continues. Aegon sees little need for proper counsel, a flaw that is evident in his erratic decision-making. Meanwhile, his half-sister values counsel, albeit some she doesn't always agree with. This brings her into conflict with the men on her council, even with her King-Consort, Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith). In the aftermath of one of those explosive verbal confrontations where Rhaenyra finally tells Daemon that she can't trust him, he departs for Harrenhal and remains there for a greater part of Season 2.
