KFC and Hackney Create Gravy Flavored Gelato

KFC and Hackney Gelato have joined forces to create gravy flavored gelato.

“Gravy Gelato” will be available only in the UK starting May 15 at 1 p.m. BST on their KFC Shop online store. A 460ml tub is will cost £5.50 (around $7.31 USD), with all proceeds from the ice cream sales going to the KFC Youth Foundation.

"KFC and award-winning Hackney Gelato have teamed up to create the first-ever Gravy Gelato – a bold, frozen twist on the nation’s favourite gravy. With a luxuriously velvety texture that melts in your mouth, this unexpected savoury delight is inspired by KFC’s legendary gravy," read the description of KFC's website. The ice cream flavour consists of "rich notes of peppercorn" and hints of chicken and is made with real gravy.

"We're no strangers to pushing flavour boundaries, but gravy? This is a first for Hackney Gelato," said CEO of Hackney Tom Lister. "When KFC asked if we could do this, it took some convincing of Enrico and our chefs, but as ever they stepped up and delivered - we can't wait for fans to try this intriguing and savoury delight."
