Kevin Smith’s ‘Jersey Girl’ Is a Frank Capra-Esque Triumph Worth Revisiting

You may not have felt it, but Jersey Girl is in the air. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez recently starred together in a Super Bowl commercial, while Lopez recently released her This Is Me…Now on Prime Video. Everywhere you look, it feels like the universe is telling you one thing: give Jersey Girl another chance. Who am I to argue with the will of the universe? Indeed, it is long past time to revisit and offer a passionate defense of Smith’s much-decried 2004 film.
