Before it debuts domestically at the end of the month, Karate Kid: Legends has been unveiled in several Latin American territories already. The legacy-quel has now passed its first box office milestone, having played in select overseas markets for around 10 days. This is the sixth film in the franchise, which began in 1984 with the classic first installment, The Karate Kid. It brings back that film’s star, Ralph Macchio, alongside Jackie Chan, who played a memorable supporting role in the franchise’s 2010 reboot, also titled The Karate Kid.
