Justice’s “Flower in a Hurricane” featuring Tame Impala and SZA features in Grand Theft Auto VI‘s official launch trailer.
Well over two years have passed since Justice delivered their latest studio-length body of work, HYPERDRAMA. And while that isn’t very much time in the grand scheme of the French duo’s discography, an announcement from Rockstar Games shows that they’ve remained active during that period.
Justice have officially been credited as composers of the original Grand Theft Auto VI score. With that being said, little else is known about their contributions at the time of writing. No tracklist or samples have been shared ahead of the game and its soundtrack’s long-awaited November 19 release.
The official trailer does, however, feature a new Justice song. “Flower in a Hurricane,” as it’s titled, is driven by distorted guitar riffs delivered by King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, and buoyed by anthemic vocals courtesy of longtime collaborator Tame Impala and US singer-songwriter SZA.
Electronic musicians have featured heavily in Grand Theft Auto titles, most famously making in-game cameos like those of Moodymann, Solomun, Tale of Us, and The Blessed Madonna. Other developers have followed Rockstar Games’ lead on this front; drum and bass duo Chase & Status appeared in the recently released 007: First Light.
Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album looks to consist of 34 tracks. Among the handful of titles currently known are songs by Yung Lean, Morgan Wallen, Fuerza Regida, Cardi B, Keith Richards, and Travis Scott, the lattermost of which was produced by former Daft Punk member Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo.
Listen to “Flower in a Hurricane” across platforms, and pre-order Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album ahead of its November 19 release on the Rockstar Games website.
