The IMAX Corporation has confirmed that Christopher Nolan's record-breaking blockbuster, The Odyssey, will return to premium large-format venues as early as this week, following the box-office failure of Digger. Starring Tom Cruise and directed by the two-time Oscar-winning Alejandro G. Iñárritu, the epic sci-fi political satire made less than $20 million worldwide in its box-office debut, against a budget that has been reported to be anywhere between $140 million and $180 million. Warner Bros. spent an additional $100 million to market the movie, meaning that its break-even point, given the typical revenue split between studios and exhibitors, should be around $350 million worldwide. At this rate, Digger is poised to gross around $50 million in its lifetime run.
