Judy Blume’s new romantic drama series arrived on Netflix last week, and it didn’t take the streamer long to reach a verdict on the show. After less than a week on the platform, Forever earned a Season 2 renewal, which came after it rocketed to the #1 spot on the streamer’s charts and has stayed put for several days now. The series stars Michael Cooper Jr. and Lovie Simon in the lead roles of Justin Edwards and Keisha Clarke, with Xosha Roquemore, Marvin L. Winans III, and Wood Harris filling out the rest of the supporting cast. Forever currently sits at a 96% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and the audience-driven Popcornmeter also lands at a strong 94%. Critics and audiences don’t often stand united on a front, but Forever has been a hit by all measures thus far.
