With the NCAA season over, fans of Jordan Chiles might be missing their favorite gymnast a little more this year. After all, since Chiles took a break from Elite gymnastics post-Paris, the NCAA mats have been the best source for the fans to see her in action. And guess what? Chiles continued her sensational form from the Olympics as she wooed fans left, right, and center. Naturally, looking at her shining form, many anticipated the Olympic gold medalist would take part in some of the big events lined up this year. But alas! It was not to be.

Jordan Chiles recently teamed up with CorePower Yoga to take up a new role. Having faced some significant challenges post the bronze medal drama in Paris, Chiles is now a mental health ambassador. Catching up with PEOPLE, Chiles reflected upon a variety of topics. And one of the most significant among them was her future plans. Now, while there were some pretty interesting hints coming from Chiles, surprisingly, there was no mention of the upcoming World Championships.

The World Championships have been one of the biggest launching pads for gymnasts to show off their prowess. But at the moment, it does not look like the Worlds are within what Chiles is planning for her future. Instead, she seemed quite interested in the 2028 Olympics set to take place in Los Angeles. “It’s on my mind,” Chiles said. She further stated, “It’s not something that I just let go. Obviously, you know, I just did Paris, and I went straight into school.”

She also stated that she wanted to take things slowly, month-by-month and year-by-year.  “We have three more years until then, so we’ll see what happens. But it’s not completely out of my head. I still think about it,” Chiles concluded. Surely, this would come as a huge disappointment for the US gymnastics fans. Post the Olympics, they have been deprived significantly of watching the big names perform.

As a matter of fact, Jade Care, too, has declined from participating in the Worlds this year. And speaking of Simone Biles, she has remained silent about her future in gymnastics as a whole. Meanwhile, with the 2025 Worlds on the verge of missing out on significant star power, Jordan Chiles recently had some new takeaways to share from her time in Paris.

Jordan Chiles narrates her emotional rise and fall from the Paris Olympic podium

Jordan Chiles’ journey to the 2024 Paris Olympics was one of triumph, heartbreak, and resilience. The two-time Olympian had just clinched her first individual Olympic medal—a bronze in the women’s floor exercise—and shared a historic moment on the podium with fellow Black gymnasts Simone Biles and Rebeca Andrade. But the joy was short-lived.

Days later, a timing error led to Chiles’ medal being stripped away, and her world came crashing down. “I was devastated,” Chiles recalled while in a conversation with Juana Summers for NPR. The weight of the moment was still very much palpable in her voice. The media frenzy and constant questions about her well-being added to the overwhelming feeling of loss.

Despite the sting of losing her medal, Chiles pushed forward, remaining steadfast in her belief that her journey was far from over. Chiles shared, “I had a talent, and I had a gift… It wasn’t something I should shy away from.” Leaning on her family, faith, and the support of those who believed in her, Chiles found the strength to keep moving forward.

Even in the darkest moments, she held onto her unwavering faith. “I honestly would not be standing here if it wasn’t for God,” she added. Her ability to rise above adversity, despite the setbacks, has truly made her a symbol of perseverance in the sport. But with the World Championships and Jakarta approaching, we might finally see Jordan’s redemption saga.
