Jonathan David has confirmed that he will be leaving Lille on a free transfer this summer when his contract comes to an end.
The 25-year-old has been with the French club for five seasons, scoring 109 goals in all competitions in that time.
He has netted 25 times this campaign and with one game still to play he could match the tally of 26 he managed in each of the two previous seasons.
Unsurprisingly, the sheer weight of goals the Canada international has produced has attracted attention from across Europe.
There has been interest in him in previous transfer windows and now he is set to leave Lille on a free, the race for his signature is nearing an end.

He confirmed the expected news in an Instagram video on Wednesday, which showed the caption: ‘Every story has a beginning and an end.’
David then said, in a message to Lille fans: ‘I wanted you to hear it from me, after five years at the club, it is time to say goodbye.

‘I spent five amazing years in Lille. I know it hasn’t been the easiest, but I hope that my goals and celebrations have brought you guys some joy and happiness.
‘And it’s been a long and fun ride and especially with those two titles that we won together, I think make the story even better.
‘I would like to thank all of my teammates that I played with, coaches, staff members, kit men, medical staff, everyone that has worked at the club that I’ve came in contact with. I’d like to thank you for the work that you’ve done for the team and especially for myself all these years.
‘And lastly, for the fans, thank you also for the support that you guys have given me throughout all these years. I know that the beginning wasn’t the easiest we had some hard moments obviously, but I think with your support and your help it helped me flourish all these years and made me the player I am today. So with this I would just like to say thank you again.’

Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and West Ham have all been credited with an interest in the striker.
Italian side Napoli have presented a contract offer to the Canada international, reports transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, although a deal has not been agreed.
David, who has scored 32 goals in 61 caps for Canada, suggested that it is actually Spain that he would like to make his next destination, if an offer comes along.
‘I think I can adapt to every league,’ the 25-year-old told the It’s Called Soccer Podcast earlier this year.

‘Every league has its differences, the Premier League is a lot faster and physical than all the other leagues.
‘But for me, I grew up watching a lot of La Liga and for me that would be my preferred league. That’s the league I enjoyed watching the most so one day I would like to play there.
‘Will that happen? I don’t know, but I’m not opposed to anything we’ll just see where the future takes us.’
