Jon Jones Breaks Silence on Allegations of Ducking Tom Aspinall as Fight Update in Limbo

Jon Jones does not care if people call him a “duck.” Not one bit. The ‘undisputed’ heavyweight champion, of course, is dragging his feet on fighting the interim heavyweight champ, Tom Aspinall. Many suspect it is because the GOAT contender is “scared” of facing the Englishman, who is bigger than Jones, younger than Jones, and has a destructive, remarkably well-rounded once-in-a-generation game that can give ‘Bones’ nightmares.

Jones, of course, had demanded “f–k you money” to fight Aspinall, and according to Ariel Helwani, Dana White agreed to pay him said money. However, there hasn’t been any progress on the fight so far. We know Aspinall wants it and the UFC want it. The only person not on board so far is Jon Jones. Other fighters may take great offense to the implication that they are afraid of fighting someone in their division, and may take a fight against them to prove a point. But not Jones, who dismissed fans accusing him of ducking Aspinall on a recent Instagram Live.

“I’ve got people in the chat calling me a duck. Meanwhile, I’m living my absolute best life. I don’t know if it’s considered ducking when you’re living good. I don’t think it works like that,” Jones told the chat on an IG Live he did on his bike.
