Jon Favreau Wowed Us With 'The Mandalorian,' but Now He Needs To Move Far, Far Away From Star Wars

Jon Favreauhas unquestionably become one of the most important blockbuster filmmakers of the modern era, as he launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Iron Man and proved the potential for Disney’s live-action remakes with The Jungle Book. It makes sense why Kathleen Kennedy wanted him to help retool the Star Warsfranchise, as Favreau’s work as a creator, writer, and occasional director on The Mandalorianoffered a new hope for the galaxy far, far away in the aftermath of the divisive response to The Rise of Skywalker. However, Favreau is too talented to spend the rest of his career in the Lucasfilm sandbox, as The Mandalorian and Grogumay not have been the best films for him to direct.
