John’s shocking lies are dramatically exposed in Emmerdale as face from the past returns

The true colours of Emmerdale’s John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) are well and truly out in the open.

He, however accidentally, murdered Nate (Jurell Carter) with a syringe full of drugs, he drugged Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and set up Ella Forster (Paula Lane). His evil runs deep, and we haven’t hit the bottom of it yet.

And unfortunately for John, Vic (Isabel Hodgins) has inadvertently got the ball rolling on the undoing of his lies.

When John grew cagey about not having people to invite to his own wedding, Vic determined to get in touch with John’s old army pals.

Victoria reaches out to John’s former solider pal Connor, and they meet up to reminisce about Connor’s past with John.

Bombshell number one for Vic – Aidan is still alive. As far as anyone else was aware, Aidan had died in Afghanistan. 

Connor treats Vic to the full truth of what really happened in Afghanistan and explains that Aidan is in a coma in a hospital in Leeds.

Victoria is dumbfounded; it’s a big dent in her belief in how honest John has been.

Vic being Vic, she decides her best next move is not to speak to John, but to go and visit Aidan in hospital herself. Once there, she’s directed to his room but takes one look at him and quickly leaves. 

A shaken Vic takes this new knowledge back to John and confronts him, he’s been caught out in a massive lie. John is panicked – is Vic now in danger of being silenced before she starts working out what else John has lied about?
