The Winnipeg Jets will be down a man on defence as they look to keep their historically hot start going.

Jets defenceman Logan Stanley is dealing with a mid-body injury and is set to miss the team’s next three games at least, head coach Scott Arniel told reporters Tuesday.

Stanley did not join the team for their upcoming three-game road trip and was not at practice on Tuesday.

Arniel told reporters after the morning skate that he’ll be re-evaluated for his injury when the Jets return home following a game against the Florida Panthers on Saturday.

It’s unclear when the defenceman suffered the injury. The 26-year-old missed the team’s first four games of the season while recovering from knee surgery.

The Kitchener, Ont., native has one goal and two assists in 11 games this season and is averaging 15:13 of time on ice.

Winnipeg is the hottest team in the NHL this season. The Jets have jumped out to a 14-1-0 record, which set the mark for the most wins in 15 games to start the season. They head to Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night to take on the 9-3-1 New York Rangers.
