As Daisy Midgeley’s (Charlotte Jordan) departure from Coronation Street looms, it looks as though her relationship with Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthew) isn’t going to get fixed before she goes.

After multiple clashes between the two characters, Daisy decided to plot revenge on Jenny by getting in contact with Christina (Amy Robbins), her biological mum.

With help from Christina and catfish Dom, Daisy’s plan to steal Jenny’s money is well underway – meaning she also needs to make a quick getaway to avoid getting caught.

Unfortunately though, it seems Daisy is in for a few more shocks as her chapter in Weatherfield draws to a close.

In upcoming episodes, Daisy grows suspicious when Christina refuses to get rid of her burner phone and let Jenny and Dom message each other directly.

Any chance to investigate what’s going on with Christina ends fairly quickly for Daisy, as Jenny reveals she has inherited some money from shares Daisy’s dad her bought in her name, and plans to invest in Dom’s company.

In the week, as the Bingo fundraiser begins, Daisy goes through to the back room to find Jenny in a complete panic.

The next day, with Jenny consumed with worry following events of the night before, she begs Daisy not to leave.

While Daisy’s loved ones mull over their failed relationships, she quickly puts the final touches to her escape plan, determined to go.

Just as Daisy looks set to depart, leaving multiple connections in tatters, she’s thrown when Daniel (Rob Mallard) arrives with something to say.

Discussing her exit storyline, as well as the complexities in Daisy’s relationships with the likes of Jenny and Daniel, Charlotte Jordan said:

‘I think it’s very bittersweet for Daisy. Weatherfield has been her home for a while now and, early on, was giving her all the things she wanted – family, community, stability, people to love more than she perhaps loves herself – but it’s also been the source of so much trauma for her.

‘I think we’ve watched her slowly try to pick up the pieces since her stalking storyline, but she’s ultimately realised she doesn’t need to stay in a place that’s caused her so much heartbreak.

‘And it’s just as well she’s running far away to the other side of the planet, as she’s left a mountain of destruction and angry people in her wake!’.
