Jason Statham’s ‘Beekeeper’ Sequel Takes Massive Step Forward With a ‘Salt’ Star

The sequel to Jason Statham’s The Beekeeper just took a massive step forward as filming grows closer by the day. News broke this morning that Yara Shahidi has joined the cast of Jason Statham’s TheBeekeeper 2, which is in the works at Miramax and Amazon MGM. Shahidi has recently garnered acclaim for her performances in Grown-Ish and Black-ish, but she’s also known for her small role in Angelina Jolie’s Salt. Details about whom she could be playing are being kept under wraps, but she joins Statham and the previously announced Jeremy Irons, who is back to reprise his role as Wallace Westwyld in the action sequel.
