After starring in two action movies, Jason Statham’s year is officially over, but fans continue to revisit some of his older classics on streaming. Statham opened the year by starring in Shelter, which was one of the best-reviewed movies of his entire career. This unfortunately didn’t translate to success at the box office, though, as Shelter eked out only $56 million at the box office against a $50 million budget — it needed around $100 million to break even. Statham sought out box office redemption with the release of his next 2026 film, Mutiny, but it also struggled at the box office despite a more modest budget. The film grossed only $30 million at the box office against a $40 million budget, and it marked the second time this year that a Statham-led actioner failed to reach its break-even point.
