“The Conjuring” and “Aquaman” director James Wan is reportedly set to direct key episodes of the upcoming “RoboCop” TV series at Amazon MGM Studios.

World of Reel broke the news, indicating Wan also executive produces the series that will kick off a six-month shoot in January in Vancouver.

Peter Ocko (“Lodge 49,” “The Office”) writes and showruns the new series dubbed a serialised spin on the famed franchise with Wan’s Atomic Monster label producing.

The story begins when a giant tech conglomerate collaborates with the local police department to introduce a technologically advanced enforcer to combat rising crime, a police officer who’s part man, part machine.

This time out, the cybernetic lawman's real name is Marc Kyle, not Alex Murphy, and he won't start off as a police officer but rather as a soldier who died in combat before being remade as a cyborg and beginning a new life.

Paul Verhoeven directed the 1987 original, which became an iconic sci-fi action film known for its satire of American capitalism, moments of extreme violence and iconic lines. It inspired two sequels, a reboot in 2014, and several limited TV series.
