James Gunn Reacts to Popular Arrow Fancast Ahead of Upcoming ‘Lanterns’ Series

We’re only a few months away from the release of Superman, the first tentpole film in James Gunn’s DCU, but the universe has already begun to take shape beyond its debut movie. One of the projects already announced and kicked into production is Lanterns, the Max original series that will see Rebel Ridge star Aaron Pierre step into the role of John Stewart, with Friday Night Lights star Kyle Chandler set to star opposite him as Hal Jordan. No Country for Old Men veteran Garrett Dillahunt sparked rumors that he had been cast as the DCU’s Green Arrow/Oliver Queen after sharing some concept art of himself as the character, but James Gunn recently took to his personal Threads account to debunk this theory by responding to a fan who asked if it was true, simple saying “Haha, no.”
