James Gunn spoke about the Peacemaker and Creature Commandos crossover possibilities on Peacemaker: The Official Podcast for Season 2, Episode 6. When asked by fans, Gunn noted that the shows already share connective tissue through Rick Flag Sr., who appears in both projects. Jennifer Holland and Steve Agee explained, “It kind of is a crossover,” pointing out that Flag references his back injury from Creature Commandos within Peacemaker.

Gunn also discussed that some fans want a direct team-up, such as Weasel, The Bride, or Phosphorus, fighting alongside the 11th Street Kids. “I think that’s possible…Or even probable, in a way,” Gunn stated, suggesting that DC Studios views the two series as narratively flexible within the new shared DCU.

Lex Luthor is seen in Belle Reve Prison, played by Nicholas Hoult, and Rick Flag Sr. arranges a deal to move him to Van Kull in Episode 6. Gunn said these moments deepen DCU connectivity while keeping future interactions possible. The episode also highlights the return of Vigilante (Freddie Stroma), John Economos (Steve Agee), and Auggie Smith (Robert Patrick), reinforcing the ensemble’s importance in shaping Season 2’s evolving multiverse story.

From a production angle, Gunn confirmed that Peacemaker Season 2 filmed Luthor’s cameo during Superman’s Pentagon shoot. This overlap showed how interlinked scheduling reflects the new DC Studios strategy.

He also noted that story arcs, such as Adebayo’s chase on Earth-X and Harcourt’s emotional reveal with Chris Smith, stand independently. At the same time, they still fit into a larger narrative framework.
