Jack Black Takes Down an Avenger at Domestic Box Office as ‘A Minecraft Movie’ Demolishes ‘Captain America: Civil War’

A Minecraft Movie may have arrived on digital platforms today, but it is still building up the blocks of success at the box office after being in theaters for more than a month. The film recently grossed $7.6 million domestically during its sixth weekend at the box office, which helped it reach $408 million at the domestic box office. Additionally, the film has also earned $500 million globally for a worldwide total of $909 million. Not only has A Minecraft Movie now earned more than Captain America: Civil War at the box office, but leading star Jack Black has also passed Jeremy Renner in career domestic box office earnings. Black also recently passed Hugh Jackman, and he will next look to race past Dave Bautista and Don Cheadle.
