Hulk and Wolverine go all the way back to the latter character’s beginnings at Marvel. In 1974’s The Incredible Hulk #180 and #181, the mutant also known as Logan, who hasn’t joined the X-Men yet, was tasked by the Canadian government to stop the fight between the Green Goliath and the Wendigo. This kicked off the Hulk vs. Wolverine rivalry that has seen them repeatedly come to blows in the subsequent decades.
