When Marvel Studios announced in 2019 that they would continue the legacy of its comic character Blade, there was mass excitement, especially from those hoping that Marvel might make an R-rated Blademovie following the success of Logan and the Deadpool movies over at 20th Century Fox. With the ongoing box office success and overall positivity towards Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, we’re back at a point when people are going to start asking why Marvel Studios has had such a tough time getting an R-rated Blade movie made. After all, they made such a big show out of the fact that two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Aliwould be playing the character.
