“It’s a broken business that is an absolute nightmare to try to fix,” said Dana White as he announced his intentions of getting boxing organized with his entry into the sport. However, established promoters in the squared-circle space don’t seem to be in agreement with the UFC CEO. Recently, Queensbury Promotions’ Frank Warren also broke his silence, claiming that boxing is as good as it has ever been.

Dana White’s comments about boxing’s current state may not have rubbed the people already in the sport for years, with Eddie Hearn being one of the first ones to react to it. While the Matchroom Boxing promoter wasn’t opposed to the UFC CEO’s entry into the boxing world, he did maintain his stance against the 55-year-old’s comments, claiming, “One thing I disagree with is boxing’s not broken.” On a similar note, Frank Warren shared the same sentiment, while also claiming that everybody, including White, is entitled to their opinion.

He strongly opposes Dana White’s claims about boxing being broken, and that, at least in the United Kingdom, boxing is going strong. However, the veteran promoter did mention that the sport has only one issue at the moment, which is the way fights are being judged. “Look, he’s got his opinion, I’ve got my opinion. It don’t look broke to me. Only thing that’s broken in boxing today is the tables. Other than that, we’ve had great, you know, we’re putting good shows on. They’re quality fights. They’re selling out. In this country, it’s not broken,” Frank Warren told Fight Hub TV.

The 73-year-old further added by talking about the successful events, especially in stadiums all around the United Kingdom, where all the events witnessed a total sellout. On that note, there’s nothing much to worry about in boxing, even though Dana White suggests so. “Wembley, Tottenham, big shows. People are turning out for them on a regular basis. Look at what’s happening with our shows that we put on… We’re doing fabulous. I can’t complain. That’s his opinion,” Frank Warren further stated.

When asked if he looks at Dana White as a rival, Frank Warren didn’t really give any decisive answer, but he wishes to see if he can replicate his success with the UFC in boxing. But guess what? Warren hinted that he might just be interested in working with the UFC CEO in the future.

“Will he be a rival? We’ll see. That’s [getting into boxing] his choice. He’ll do what he wants to do. He’s been very successful at what he does. We’re very successful at what we do,” the 73-year-old veteran added. “We’re in the era where we’re collaborating with everybody.”

While Dana White has mentioned boxing being “broken” and he aims to fix it, former champion Ryan Garcia claims that there’s another issue that the 55-year-old needs to watch out for in his new boxing league.

Ryan Garcia warns Dana White about the most important issue as he enters boxing

Ryan Garcia will be back in action soon against Rolly Romero after his suspension period ends on 20 April. While talking to The Schmo during a recent interview, the 26-year-old shared a pretty brutal take on Dana White’s new boxing venture. As we all know, the UFC CEO has been on the receiving end of some harsh criticism due to the pay structure in his MMA promotion. But that’s not going to work for Garcia and other boxers who could find themselves getting offered to fight in White’s new boxing league in the future.

Boxing payouts are some of the biggest in all of sports. Floyd Mayweather, Mike Tyson, and many top fighters made tens and millions of dollars for one single fight. That’s what Ryan Garcia wants Dana White to maintain – the payouts – because otherwise, boxers may not find it lucrative to compete under his promotion’s banner. “If they pay like the UFC, though, we might not like it,” said ‘KingRy’ while welcoming White to the boxing space.

Well, we are still some time away from Dana White introducing his new league. But in the meantime, let us know how you expect the UFC CEO’s boxing endeavor to go down in the comments section below.
