It’s been a busy time for Cover Holostars Vtubers like ARMIS’ Crimzon Ruze, what with the recent 3D concert, anniversaries for some members, and now some also committing to streaming on Twitch in addition to YouTube. Not to mention it’s getting close to his third anniversary with the company. To get a better idea of what it’s been like working on recent projects, what he’s been up to as the year draws to a close, and things to come in 2026, Siliconera got the opportunity to ask the performer a few questions about recent events.
Jenni Lada: You’ve hit your second birthday just recently, plus there was the Holostars 3D concert not long ago. What was it like preparing for both of those events in such a short span of time?
Crimzon Ruze: It was definitely a challenge! Honestly, between all of the other events, the Holostars Everglow Concert, and work projects, I didn't have time to plan anything special for a birthday stream. Luckily, the Ruzaders went out of their way to make it special for me. They made tons of awesome art, fan projects, fully illustrated books, and more- so that kept me pretty busy. It's almost enough to make me think the little weirdos like me. Yuck.
That wasn’t the only recent major stream. You also took part in VCraft Enchanted as Clifford Rolexus for some major roleplaying. Considering over 50 people took part in this, what was it like being one of many working together to tell a story?
Crimzon Ruze: Vcraft Enchanted was a pleasant surprise! I actually wasn't personally invited, but I took up the invitation another HoloStar passed along and ended up being a bit of a fish out of water. It was my first time meeting most of the people on the server AND one of my first times participating in a somewhat more 'serious' roleplay (aside from my experience as a Game Master for TTRPGs). The best way to describe it would be electric.
Various different creators coming together to experience a sense of community and vulernability through roleplay is something I could never have expected from a Minecraft server, but I'll always cherish the memory.
Your character in VCraft Enchanted also ended up going through a major character arc and eventually becoming mayor of New Witchington. What was it like developing the character and what do you think you most took away from it?
Crimzon Ruze: The character I played was designed to be inherently comedic, as a witch hunter in a settings full of witches and wizards. After accidentally winning a mayoral ellection, he eventually grew into a sort of guiding figure, despite having previously been an antagonistic force- so it was interesting to navigate how this persona would fit into the role of leadership. If there's anything I took away from the server, it's that “Community is free.”
You built the gMS-A Red Gundam on stream! Think you’d do another model-building stream? Like maybe one of the ROKR steampunk stag beetles or scorpions?
Crimzon Ruze: Ya'know what's funny? I'm not actually a huge model builder, but I've always had an interest. As a kid I used to build Warhammer figures with my older sister, so it's kind of nostalgic for me. I'd definitely be happy to tackle more models in the future, especially cool beetles and bugs. Wait, how'd you know I like bugs?
What do you feel Twitch offers you as a performer that YouTube doesn’t?
Crimzon Ruze: I think the major benefit of Twitch is in it's chat interactivity. The ability to create and utilize custom redeems seems like a big draw- since it can be personalized to your brand.
Likewise, do you feel YouTube offers any benefits Twitch doesn’t?
Crimzon Ruze: I think that Youtube's Membership program allows you to bypass the need for an external platform to share unique content with your community- so that's something that would pull creators towards Youtube.
Since we’re getting close to the end of 2025, do you have a game that you’d consider your game of the year in mind yet?
Crimzon Ruze: I'm a notorious game hopper, so it's really hard to narrow down a category, much less a game. Lately I've been diving really hard back into the survival game genre, but I don't know if anything there would sit right as game of the year for me... Aside from that, I haven't gotten around to so many incredible releases I really want to play. Things like Expedition 33, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, beating Silksong and Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon, Hades 2. And that's not to mention all the indie titles I've missed out on.
So to answer your question in the longest form possible, with much unneeded exposition: No.
2026 will mark your third year with COVER as a HOLOSTARS Vtuber. How do you feel about your time performing so far, and what are you looking forward to doing next?
Crimzon Ruze: HOW THE FUCK HAS IT BEEN THREE YEARS ALREADY!? I HAVE SO MUCH MORE TO DO. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
