Insider Report: Kirby Smart’s Pre-Spring Game Move Deals Blow to 19YO QB as Gunner Stockton Seizes the Moment

Fans wondered who would replace Carson Beck in Georgia. Gunner Stockton? Ryan Puglisi? Spring football is on its second-day run on March 14. And in the latest episode on UGA Football on Dawg Post, a Dawgs insider dropped his notes on the updated roster that delivered a setback to 19-year-old QB Ryan Puglisi. “Gunner Stockton, it looks like he’s taking the first team reps… it looks like Gunner Stockton is QB1 for now or at least that’s what they were showing us.” Kirby Smart didn’t let out any word on whether or not there’s a QB competition but that “there’s competition at every single position.” 

And yes, everyone from JT Daniels to Carson Beck had to fight for their spot. But for now, as the insider confirms, “it looks like Gunner Stockton is QB1 and Ryan Puglisi, the second-year guy out of New England, out of Connecticut, looks like he’s QB2 at the moment.” Is that a surprising call?
