Inside Access: Boney Kapoor and Shabana Azmi Enjoy Pani Puri at The Latters Birthday Celebration

Shabana Azmi’s birthday celebrations kicked off early this year, and the pictures from the evening are proof of just how warm and unfiltered the gathering was. In one striking group shot, the stars pile onto a sofa together, arms wrapped around each other and legs flung up mid-laugh, with Farhan Akhtar and Anil Kapoor anchoring one end of the frame in matching black outfits. It’s less posed portrait, more spontaneous burst of joy caught on camera.

Another photo finds Farhan and Anil in a quieter moment, seated beside a chalkboard menu scrawled with treats like kulhad chai, som sudha and chaat, casually chatting away as the evening unwinds around them. Javed Akhtar gets his own sweet frame too, standing close with Shabana as she looks up at him mid-laugh, both dressed in vibrant green and orange, clearly mid-conversation about something amusing.

The larger gatherings show the stars seated together on a couch, striking playful namaste poses for the camera, plates of chaat and glowing candles laid out on the table in front of them, with a live musician strumming away in the background. Richa Chadha, Dia Mirza, Tanvi Azmi and Divya Dutta can all be spotted weaving through these frames, each bringing their own easy energy to the mix.

Adding to the fun, a video from the night shows Shabana and veteran producer Boney Kapoor sharing a delightfully messy pani puri moment together, trading bites and laughs like old friends catching up over street food rather than at a starry soirée.

Between the candid poses, the chalkboard chaat menu and that pani puri video doing the rounds, this pre-birthday celebration looked less like a formal Bollywood event and more like a fun reunion of people who’ve known each other for years.
