If There's One 'Friends' Character Who Actually Deserved a Spin-Off, It's This One — No Question

As successful as Friends was (and still is), the series only ever spawned a single spin-off, which is the much-derided Joey, featuring Matt LeBlanc’s Joey Tribbiani. Despite being arguably the funniest of the entire cast, the spin-off failed. By trying to turn Joey into a lead, he lost the interactions with the ensemble cast that accentuated what a lovable lunkhead Joey is. But if we look at the other cast, there’s only one other character who truly deserved a spin-off. It’s not Chandler (Matthew Perry) or Monica (Courteney Cox), whose characters were, in a word, boring in the final season. Nor is it Ross (David Schwimmer) or Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), the ever on-and-off couple. It’s Lisa Kudrow's Phoebe, and there’s no question about it.
