Tonight, WWE held the latest edition of Monday Night RAW from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. During the show, Gunther retained the Intercontinental Championship from Jey Uso because of Jimmy Uso. In addition, Raquel Rodriguez returned to win the Battle Royal to be at the Elimination Chamber while Michael Chandler made a surprise appearance to call out Conor McGregor.

And if that wasn’t enough, there was something planned for the fans at Anaheim with another surprise appearance coming to the forefront. And it was none other than CM Punk.

CM Punk makes an appearance for a pleasant surprise

As the show went off air, with Main Event Jey Uso succumbing to a loss, there was a surprise segment for the fans in attendance. In a video uploaded by the WWE, Cody Rhodes welcomes the ‘Voice of the Voiceless’ who made his entrance to a loud crowd pop by the fans. Referring to his injury, CM Punk calls it nothing but a bump in the road and promises to return to Anaheim after recovery to have a match in front of the fans. He said, “This is a bump in the road. And I promise you that next time we are in Anaheim; I will be here and I will have my boots on!”

You’ll never guess who stopped by…

This received an enormous cheer from the fans who surely are missing the Cult of Personality. Punk had been in Anaheim for quite a while now, as he was in attendance at UFC 298, where he shared an update on his injury in a backstage segment.

The Voice of the Voiceless provided an injury update last week

As he continues to recover, CM Punk attended the UFC 298 event that took place this past weekend. TNT Sports took advantage of his presence to ask him about his return to WWE. He said, “We have to change some parts every now and again. So once we fix up all the parts, the engine’s still strong, we’ll still be good to go. We’re thinking maybe six to eight months, but I’m not really in a rush to get back to compete. I’m in a rush to get healthy. I’m in a rush to get better. The sooner I do that, the better I’ll be when I come back.”

After his mishap at the Royal Rumble, Drew McIntyre, who bragged about causing his injury attacked CM Punk. Before the attack, Punk promised the Scotsman that he would be his first target once he returned to action. Until then, fans may continue to see him on WWE programming, either through recent appearances like this or as a commentator, as happened at the WrestleMania XL Kickoff press conference.

What do you think? Will we get to see more of CM Punk in the coming shows? Let us know in the comments.
