I Think Doctor Who Just Teased Its Next Spinoff, But I'm Skeptical It'll Actually Happen

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Doctor Who season 15, episode 5, "The Story and the Engine."Doctor Who season 15, episode 5, "The Story and the Engine," brings back a character who hints at the possibility of leading their own spinoff, but there are a few different reasons why I don't think it'll happen. Although "The Story and the Engine" tries to make out that it's a standalone adventure, it teases links to Doctor Who's Pantheon and other storylines from the show's past. Doctor Who's Disney era has transformed the show beyond its glossy new aesthetic, but that may not open the door for the franchise to expand as it so obviously desires.
