That Rockyis one of the great underdog stories is no coincidence – the iconic sports drama mirrors the behind-the-scenes story of its making surprisingly closely. So closely, in fact, that dramatizing the real-life struggle itself gets nearly the same results. In the most resounding of ways, I Play Rocky captures the soulful, crowd-pleasing triumph of the 1976 classic. It's easily one of the year's best movies to date, and already among the best movies about movie-making of all time.
