Some sci-fi movies aren't for everyone. The genre covers such a wide expanse of tones, plots, and content that there are simply some movies that are going to be too much for some viewers (or even big-name critics). How one defines too much is open for interpretation, but if one is summing it up as an excess of excess, then these are movies that look at the line that should not be crossed as a good starting point.
