The 1980s was a period of excess, with a booming economy, consumerism at its peak, the rise of blockbuster movies, and the MTV generation on its way. The period was all about being loud, bold, and exaggerated, and this trend towards brashness was seen in the films of the period as well. And no film genre is louder, more bold, or more exaggerated, than action movies.
