The Carolina Hurricanes are one win away from the Eastern Conference Final.
They put the Washington Capitals on the brink of elimination with a 5-2 win in Game 4 of their second-round series on Monday night.
Shayne Gostisbehere, Seth Jarvis, Taylor Hall, Sean Walker and Andrei Svechnikov scored for Carolina, while Jakob Chychrun and Alex Ovechkin had Washington’s goals.
Hurricanes netminder Frederik Andersen stopped 19-of-21 shots in the win.
It was the Hurricanes’ second straight victory, following a 4–0 shutout of the Capitals in Game 3.
Game 5 is set for Thursday at 7 p.m. ET.
