Hulu + Live TV recently introduced significant updates to its account management system, including a major overhaul of parental controls and a transition in its bundled sports offerings. As of October 2026, subscribers can create up to six additional profiles—for a total of seven per account—to manage personalized watchlists and DVR recordings for different household members.

The most notable addition is an enhanced security feature released on October 1, 2026. This system allows account holders to set a single four-digit PIN that locks all non-kids profiles across the entire household. Unlike previous iterations that required individual settings for each user, this unified PIN ensures that younger viewers are restricted to the Kids profile environment unless the master code is entered.

How to Create and Manage Profiles

Setting up new profiles is essential for households that want to take advantage of the unlimited cloud DVR, which is now included at no additional cost for all Hulu + Live TV plans. This allows each user to maintain their own recording library without interfering with others.

To add a new profile via a web browser:

Log in to your account and hover over the profile icon in the top right corner. Select Manage Profiles from the dropdown menu. Click Add Profile. Enter the user’s name, birthdate, and gender, and toggle the “Kids” switch if the profile is intended for a child. According to the Hulu Help Center, these profiles also track individual viewing history, which powers the service’s recommendation engine. It is important to note that the “Live TV Only” plan—priced at $88.99 per month—does not include access to the Hulu video-on-demand (VOD) library, Disney+, or ESPN bundles.

Understanding ESPN Unlimited and Plan Changes

The structure of the Hulu + Live TV bundle has shifted following the rebranding of ESPN+. The service previously known as ESPN+ is now ESPN Select. Subscribers to the standard Hulu + Live TV bundles now receive ESPN Unlimited, a tier that incorporates both the linear ESPN cable channels and the full library of ESPN Select content.

While most content is available directly through the Hulu app, some ESPN Unlimited features may require users to log into the standalone ESPN app using their Hulu credentials. This integration is included in both the ad-supported and no-ads versions of the live TV bundle.

Updated Pricing and Stream Limits

Effective October 2026, Hulu has updated its pricing tiers for live streaming. The standard Hulu + Live TV bundle with ads is now $89.99 per month. For those who prefer the VOD library without commercial interruptions, the “No Ads” bundle is priced at $99.99 per month. Both tiers include Disney+ and the expanded ESPN Unlimited service.

While profiles allow for personalized organization, they do not automatically increase the number of simultaneous streams. By default, Hulu + Live TV allows for two concurrent streams. For larger households where multiple profiles will be active at once, an “Unlimited Screens” add-on is available for an additional $9.99 per month, permitting unlimited streams on the home network and up to three mobile streams while on the go.
