Huge Avatar: The Last Airbender, Dexter, & More Announcements Teased for the Very Near Future

Huge Avatar: The Last Airbender and Dexter announcements are coming to NYCC this October. Paramount+ is bringing several fan-favorite worlds to the convention with exclusive panels, first looks, and cast appearances. The programming runs from October 8 to 10.

The Paramount+ schedule begins October 8 with the Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 panel. Michael C. Hall, Uma Thurman, James Remar, Jack Alcott, Bokeem Woodbine and Krysten Ritter will appear. Showrunner Clyde Phillips and executive producers Scott Reynolds and Marcos Siega will also join moderator Josh Horowitz.

Paramount+ has more than Dexter planned for NYCC weekend

Paramount+ will also spotlight Avatar: Seven Havens and another major franchise during NYCC weekend. The Avatar panel takes place October 9, while the second presentation follows on October 10.

Avatar: Seven Havens will hold its panel on the same day as its global premiere. Janet Varney will moderate a discussion with creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. Saheli Khan, Aishu Devan, and Major Curda will join them for the presentation.

The new animated series follows a young Earthbender who becomes the next Avatar after Korra. She and her long-lost twin must find their origins while trying to save the Seven Havens. The series premieres globally on Paramount+ on October 9.

On October 10, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will get an exclusive preview of Season 2. Holly Hunter, Robert Picardo, and other cast members will join co-showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau. William Shatner will also appear for a special conversation celebrating Star Trek’s 60th anniversary.

Beyond the panels, fans can visit the Dexter 20th Anniversary Museum Experience from October 9-11. The Manhattan event will feature props, recreations, interactive experiences, and photo opportunities. Free tickets will be available, with a standby line offered daily.

Avatar: Seven Havens will also roll out its first batch of episodes during the NYCC weekend. The series premieres globally on October 9 with three episodes on Paramount+. Episodes 4-6 arrive October 16, followed by episodes 7-9 on October 23 and the final four episodes on October 30.
