Huda Beauty drops new makeup collection inspired by purple yams – and it’s dreamy

If you don’t know what an ube is, it’s a purple yam. So, has Huda actually just launched a new makeup collection inspired by the root vegetable? Yes, yes she has.

It might sound strange but every year, Huda Kattan celebrates her birthday with ube cake so, really, it was only a matter of time before the beauty behemoth launched a range inspired by the bright purple veggie.

The Ube Collection, launching on January 15, offers all the makeup magic of Huda’s beloved products in a vivid lilac shade, designed to brighten the skin and add a flush of colour.

The full line up includes three staple products. First, the Easy Bake Loose Baking Setting Powder in Ube Birthday Cake (£28). A loose powder with subtle rosy tones, in her signature formula, that neutralises, brightens and blurs imperfections and works brilliantly on dark under eyes.

Next, Blush Filter in Ube Cream (£22) – a creamy and blendable lilac version of the coveted liquid blush. Applied to cheeks, it gives a subtle wash of pigment that’s almost ethereal.

Finally, Faux Filler Lip Gloss in UUU-Baby (£18). A sheer lilac, high-shine gloss that plumps lips and is packed with nourishing vitamin E that soothes and hydrates.
