Expedition 33 introduces a bunch of new mechanics and systems as you play the story. However, during that time, you will get rewards, materials, and items that you can’t use. One of those is Colour of Luminas, which can’t be used for a few hours after beginning your journey in the game.

You can use Colour of Lumina at the camp from the world map once you have found Maelle and visited The Manor in the Flying Waters area. Here you will meet The Curator, and upon defeating him in a mandatory fight, he will join you in the camp when you first unlock it after the Flying Waters area. With the Colour of Lumina you can increase the amount of Lumina Points on each character.
When you enter the camp, you can choose to “upgrade Expedition resources” to upgrade each character’s amount of Lumina Points.

Colour of Lumina are vital items that allow you to unlock more Lumina points for every party member. These allow you to use more Lumina on your party members, letting you equip more passive buffs and abilities that can improve and enhance your build and your overall party. You can also break the game thanks to these Lumina and Pictos by combining their effects.
While you won’t have a lot initially, you can improve this all the way up to several hundred Lumina Points per character when you find every resource and item throughout the game. This can even be pushed further or with stronger Pictos in New Game Plus, which unlocks once you finish Act 3 in the main story.
