Pre-ordering a Nintendo Switch 2 during launch week is not going to be easy, but the odds are increased if you know where to look.
While there have been complaints online about the Nintendo Switch 2’s pricing (more so for its first party games than the console itself), it is still expected to be a hot commodity once it launches on Thursday, June 5.
With stock routinely selling out across the country, the best time to score a Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order was last month. The next best time is right now.
If you’re unsure where to look, we’ve put together a list of retailers worth checking for any last minute stock or at least for receiving alerts from when the console becomes available again.
At the time of writing, the only place we could find with any Switch 2 stock is Very. Listed below is every bundle they have, but be sure to act quick before they run out.
Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + 256GB SanDisk microSD Express Card – £479 Nintendo Switch 2 + Pro Controller + 256GB SanDisk MicroSD Card – £520 Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + The Legend Of Zelda: Tears of Kingdom – £494 Nintendo Switch 2 Console + Mario Kart World + Street Fighter 6 – £479 Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + Camera + Pro Controller – £555While it doesn’t have any stock at the moment, ShopTo is currently accepting back orders for shipments starting the week of June 9. The only option it has, though, is for the Mario Kart World bundle, which it’s selling for £429.95.
Alternatively, if you’re willing to stay up till midnight, Smyths is running a launch event across all its stores and it will have limited stock available. Use this store tracker to see if there’s a Smyths near you and you may be able to purchase one in person.
It may not hurt to check your local Argos as well. While it is not offering online pre-orders for either the console on its own or the Mario Kart World bundle, its website says they can be ordered in-store. You can see where your closest Argos is with this store locator.
We did notice that GAME is offering pre-orders on its website after it accidentally cancelled a bunch of them, but something screwy is going on with it since, as we write this, the Switch 2 on its own is listed for £9,999.
As it stands, everywhere else is sold out, but we still recommend bookmarking these sites and regularly checking them in case any stock arrives ahead of launch:
Nintendo UK Amazon UK (console) Amazon UK (Mario Kart World bundle) John Lewis (console) John Lewis (Mario Kart World bundle) Currys (console) Currys (Mario Kart World bundle) HMV The Game Collection HitThe only other alternative is to buy a pre-order second-hand through eBay, but we wouldn’t recommend it since you would be paying more than the console is worth.
Typically, the Switch 2 on its own is £395.99, but on eBay you’ll find it going for more than £440, making it more expensive than the bundle that comes with Mario Kart World.
