This article contains spoilers for Final Destination BloodlinesFor 25 years, Death's design has driven the Final Destination franchise into some pretty horrifying and gory places, as anyone who survives a major catastrophe, whether it be a plane crash, a highway pile-up, or a bridge collapse, ends up being killed in even more horrific ways. Although the original Flight 180 explosion in the original has often been a touchstone for what's to come, the movies have generally tried to stand on their own feet, without audiences needing to have seen their predecessors to follow the action. After 14 years without a new movie, Final Destination Bloodlinesputs a few new twists on the "formula," though that doesn't mean it's completely unconnected to all five previous movies. In fact, it creates some surprising connective tissue few might expect.
