HBO has confirmed House of the Dragon season 3. The shooting is expected to end by October 2025, which started in March 2025. Most of the scenes have been shot in the UK and Spain. The release is predicted around June 2026. This season will come with even more action on the Targaryen civil war and amazing dragon battles.

The producer of Hercules, Rampage, and more hit shows, Ryan Condal, is back as the producer with HBO as the production company. Miguel Sapochnik, the director of season 1 of House of the Dragon, will be directing season 3, and the story is written by George R. R. Martin.

Filming began in March 2025, and according to the House of the Dragon actress Olivia Cooke, the shooting will not be finished till October. The shooting is being filmed in England and Spain.

The story will dive deep into the Dance of the Dragons. This is the bloody war between Rhaenyra’s Team Black and Aegon II’s Team Green. It’s full of rivalry, betrayal, and dragons. Fans will finally see the big Battle of the Gullet, a famous naval fight. Expect wild action and lots of surprises.

Ryan Condal, the showrunner, said the season starts with a huge battle. Plus, there’s a special episode they call “conceptual,” focusing on characters and emotions more than battles. It shows the human side of this war. Season 3 will mix massive dragon fights with quiet, intense moments.

When exactly can you expect the release? The date has not been announced yet, but it is expected to be released by June 2026. You can watch the series only on HBO and Max streaming services. 

According to the sequence, the trailer might be out by the start of 2026. They also have all previous episodes and trailers ready to binge. House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones have received many awards, including Emmy awards. The awards are for acting and directing. With its unique story and great level of acting, the same level of detailing is expected for House of the Dragon season 3.
