Dominick Reyes was full of confidence heading into UFC Perth as he saw the resurgence of his career with three straight KO wins in a row. However, ‘The Devastator’ could not get the job done against Carlos Ulberg, who proved to be too much for the former title contender, as he knocked him out in the opening round of their headlining fight. Ulberg’s win has fans and UFC pros playing matchmakers for his next fight.

Carlos Ulberg showed great distance management against Dominick Reyes, who he claimed was the most athletic opponent he had ever been paired up with before the fight. ‘The Devastator’ was finding it hard to close the distance and land his shots, but in the end, he succumbed to a knockout loss, making him go back to the drawing board, while Ulberg took a step closer to landing a title shot.

So, who should Carlos Ulberg fight next? Well, former double champion Henry Cejudo believes a direct title shot may not be in line for the New Zealand fighter. Instead, he has proposed a fight between Ulberg and the winner of the Khalil Rountree Jr. vs Jiri Prochazka matchup. “Carlos Ulberg vs the winner of Ankalaev/Pereira. Book it,” ‘Triple C’ wrote on X.

While others praised Ulberg’s performance, they believe that this win is enough for him to fight the winner of the light heavyweight title fight at UFC 320. “Goodness gracious. Carlos Ulberg just punched his ticket to a world title fight, and that punch went right through Dominick Reyes. He’ll get the winner of Ankalaev vs. Pereira,” one of those fans stated.
