HBO won't have an easy time pleasing fans with its Harry Potter TV show, but that's nothing compared to the company's Baldur's Gate adaptation. These days, it seems that just about every new TV show is based on a previously established IP, which makes a lot of sense. Production companies are all but guaranteed to make a profit, since dedicated fans are sure to turn up to watch. The trouble comes when these passionate viewers begin to express their opinions regarding the adaptation. The more popular the IP, the higher the chances of a significant outcry when the adaptation isn't perfect.
