The Gilded Age currently holds a very interesting position on television. Originally, the series from Julian Fellowes, which the Downton Abbey creator largely co-writes alongside Sonja Warfield, had to set itself apart from Fellowes' previous hit period drama. Yet four seasons in, the HBO show's newest mission is less about building its own reputation and more about sustaining the positive momentum it's already drummed up.
