HBO Max’s Underrated Rage TV Show Returns in Season 2 Trailer, Release Date Set

A new trailer for HBO Max’s acclaimed Spanish black comedy series Rage Season 2 has been released. Rage Part 2 arrives just over a year after the original, featuring a new ensemble cast alongside returning stars Claudia Salas and Ana Torrent. The second season will premiere first at the San Sebastián Film Festival in September.

Rage Season 2 will follow several women trapped in a “market-driven system where everything is liable to become a lucrative spectacle.” The show will see the women deal with several harsh situations while struggling to control their rage.

What happens in Rage Season 2 trailer?

Like the first season’s marketing, Rage Season 2 is focused on not revealing details of its plot. The trailer starts by introducing its new leads and their lives, with subtle commentary on capitalism, streaming services, reboots, and more. It is revealed that a streaming service, Nucleo, wants to make a show about Tina’s life, referring to events from the first season.

The rest of the trailer maintains the frenetic tone of the first season’s marketing, showing brief glimpses of the mayhem that awaits its new characters. “You’d be surprised how much a good revenge can save you on therapy,” notes Salas.

Rage season 2 stars Maribel Verdú, Carmen Maura, María León, Cecilia Suárez, Ana Mena, and Clara Sans. The HBO original series is created and co-directed by Félix Sabroso, with Jau Fornés joining him to helm the anthology. It was co-written by Sabroso and Juan Flahn. José María Caro, Antonio Trashorras, and David Ocaña serve as the executive producers for HBO Max, alongside Santi Botello and Félix Sabroso for Producciones Mandarina.

Rage season 1 was critically acclaimed, earning a special jury prize for the leading cast at the Rose d’Or. Rage Season 2 debuts on HBO Max on October 9, 2026. Like last time, season 2 will also consist of 8 episodes, each 30 minutes long.
