When the season went into production, executive producer Salma Hayek Pinault confirmed this in a statement. “This will be a season of change and growth for many of our characters, particularly Tita,” she had said (via Deadline), “We are proud to partner with Max and Endemol again for this new season, which will be an intense journey, full of dramatic but also romantic, magical events. I can’t wait for the audience to experience how our story concludes.” So, no, Like Water For Chocolate, despite its critical acclaim, will not see another season.

Like Water for Chocolate follows star-crossed lovers Tita (Azul Guaita) and Pedro (Andres Baida), who face opposition from her family’s traditions. She is forced to “navigate magic and flavors in the kitchen,” according to the official plot of the series. The series is adapted from the Laura Esquivel novel of the same name and has seen great success since its premiere in 2024.
